TOPIC:TOPIC: HOW TO EXPRESS OUR GRATITUDE THROUGH 3: DANCING AND BODY LANGUAGE

BIBLE TEXT:I 2 Samuel 6:1-14, Psalm 149
2 Samuel 6:1-14
[1]Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
[2]And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.
[3]And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.
[4]And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.
[5]And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.
[6]And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
[7]And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.
[8]And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.
[9]And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?
[10]So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.
[11]And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household.
[12]And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
[13]And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.
[14]And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 149:3a “Let them praise His name with the dance”.

LESSON AIM: God gave you your entire body part to praise Him. Revelation 4:11.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Give God pleasure by dancing to show Him your gratitude.

INTRODUCTION: Dancing is a beautiful way of giving God gratitude, He created you wonderfully for His Pleasures Revelation 4:11. David sings and dances before God to appreciate Him and God is pleased with him. You too should always rejoice and dance before your maker as a sign of gratitude to all of His goodness and mercies.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. David gathered all the choice men of Israel, thirty thousand. Vs I B. And David rose and went with all the people from Baale Judah to bring from there the Ark of God so the set it on a new cart and brought it out of the house of Abinadab Vs. 2-4.

C. Then David and all the house of Israel played music before the Lord on all kinds of instruments. And when they came Nachon threshing floor Uzaiah put out his hand to the Ark of God and took hold of it for the oxen stumbled Vs 5-6.

D. Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah and God struck him there for his error and he died there by the Ark of God. Vs. 7-8. (Sin also arouse the anger of God, what is sin? Whatever you do that displeases God. Example: lying, fighting, stealing, and disobeying. The punishment for sin is separation from God Romans 3:23, 26:23. God loves you and want to save you from sin so He gave His perfect son Jesus John 3:16. Jesus died, gave His blood and rose the third day. I John 1:7. If you believe in Him your sin will be forgiven forever.)

E. And he was angry for the Lords outbreak against Uzzah. He said “How can the ark of the Lord come to me? So he could not bring the ark of God with him to the city of David, but too it aside to the house of Obed-Edom the Crittite” Vs 8-10.

F. The ark of the Lord remains in the house of Obed-Edom the Crittite for three months and the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and his household. When he heard that the Lord blessed Obed-Edom so David went and brought the ark of the God from the house of Obed-Edom to the city of David with gladness. Vs 11-12.

CLIMAX: And so it was when the bearer of ark of God had moved six

paces, David sacrificed Oxen and fattened sheep. Then David danced before the Lord with all his might and David was wearing a linen Ephod. Vs 13-14 (Even in David’s kingship rope “a linen Ephod” he danced with all his might before the Lord, he humbled himself. Do you dance before the Lord with all your might? God wants you to humble yourself and sincerely with pure heart show your gratitude to him).

CONCLUSION: So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with sound of trumpet. Vs 15

CHALLENGE: Psalm 149 says that children of Zion should be joyful in their king and let them praise the name of the Lord with dance. Let the saints be joyful in glory let them sing aloud in their beds. As God’s children always sing and dance to the Lord at any time

at anywhere. INVITATION: To experience the joy of the Lord, receive Jesus as your savior today. Acts 16:31.
