RCCG LOWER JUNIOR ZEAL FOR 2023/2024
AGE 4-5 TEACHER’S MANUAL
SUNDAY 4TH AUGUST, 2024
LESSON FORTY NINE (49)
TOPIC: CONSEQUENCES OF AN UNGRATEFUL HEART: ETERNITY IN HELL.

BIBLE TEXT: LUKE 16:19-31
[19]There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
[20]And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
[21]And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
[22]And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
[23]And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
[24]And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
[25]But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
[26]And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
[27]Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
[28]For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
[29]Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
[30]And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
[31]And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

MEMORY VERSE: Luke 12:56 “Fear him who after He has killed, has power to cast into hell, yes, I say to you fear Him”

LESSON AIM: Hell fire is for the unsaved and ungrateful.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Do not go the path of hell fire.

INTRODUCTION: Psalm 9:17 says “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God” Hell is a place of agony and torment for the enemies of God. God does not want anyone to perish in hell, so He gave His Son to save you from sin and wickedness, but if you reject this love and grace of salvation then you have chosen eternity in hell.

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and linen and fared sumptuously everyday Vs. 19

B. But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores who was laid at his gate waiting to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. Vs 20-21

C. So the beggar died and was carried by the Angels to Abraham bosom, the rich died and was buried (The beggar went to heaven where father Abraham was and the rich man went to hell).

D. The rich man being in torment in Hades (hell) he lifted up his eyes and Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom, then he cried and said Father Abraham have mercy and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue for I am tormented in the flames. Vs 23-24. (Hell is a terrible place that is extremely hot that the rich man requested for s drop of water from the finger of a beggar with sores. Why is the rich man in hell? “Let the children respond”

  • He has an ungrateful heart
  • May be he did not believe in Jesus
  • May be he was wicked to people
  • Maybe he stole and cheated
One thing is sure he did not live a godly live while he was alive) E. But Abraham told him to remember that while he was alive he receives good things and Lazarus evil things and now Lazarus is comforted and he is tormented and there is a great gulf fixed that no one can pass through. Vsa 25-26. (The rich and poor can make heaven as seen in life of Abraham and Lazarus. They can also go to hell, it depends on if you
receive Jesus as your Saviour and live by the word of God).

Vs 27-28 (There is no repentance in hell.a Now is the time of salvation, if you know you have not believe in Jesus, right now is the time before it is too late).

CLIMAX: And he said “No Father Abraham but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.” (Hell is real, repent and be converted Act 3:19. After death it is judgement. Those with ungrateful heart will not make heaven for they are wicked and means)..
