AGE 16-19 TEACHER’S MANUALS
SUNDAY 22ND OF DECEMBER, 2024
LESSON SEVENTEEN (17)
TOPIC: CAREER CHOICE
BIBLE TEXTS: Jeremiah 29:11-14
[11]For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
[12]Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
[13]And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
[14]And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
Proverbs 3:6
[6]In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
MEMORY VERSE: Prov. 16:3 “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established”.
LESSON AIM: To let the Teenagers know how they can choose their career in future.
INTRODUCTION: Choosing a career can sometimes seem overwhelming. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was a man of work. He was a skilled artisan, a craftsman who knew how to
produce a quality product. He took great pride in His work. He said, “My yoke is easy.” As a skilled carpenter, He knew the difference between a yoke that was made well and one that was poorly built, for a well-made yoke was easy on a beast of burden. Of the 132 public appearances of Jesus, 122 were in work settings, and He used them effectively to teach great spiritual truths to His disciples. As Christians, we desire to live in a way that’s pleasing to the Lord. It’s easy to ask ourselves, “What would the Lord want me to do”. However, if you don’t wait on Him in all your decisions, you can make a lot of mistakes and waste a lot of time. Fortunately, we can keep seeking God and receiving His grace. God has created each of us with specific aptitudes, skills and interests.

CONCLUSION: Deciding on a career may seem
overwhelming, but it is easier when you give yourself a lot of options and time to consider it. Although the idea of a “job for life” is fast becoming a thing of the past, the field of work which you choose is important because it will determine where you will spend most of your working life and will also define how many opportunities you will have to branch out using your basic skills set. So, it is advisably to choose wisely and select a field that encompasses as many of your talents as possible, which will allow you the greatest freedom and flexibility for shifting around a field doing different jobs with a good set of basic skills, along with a good dose of solid confidence in your worth and abilities.
PRAYER/CONFIRMATION: Father, from today onward, I begin to flourish in my career in Jesus name.
