TOPIC: THE WORD OF GOD

BIBLE TEXT John 17:16-17
[16]They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
[17]Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

MEMORY VERSE: Palm 119:11. Thy wont have I had in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.

LESSON AIM. To let the children know and read the Word of God CENTRAL TRUTH The Word of God guides our steps in life.

INTRODUCTION: The Bible, God’s Word is our instruction manual, or our road map, for life. It contains wisdom, encouragement, comfort, and life-changing power. And there isn’t a specific answer to a particular situation or problem, you’l find life principles that lead you to it. In other words, only the true word of God has any power, and God opposes men who simply quote each other and attribute it to Him. Only knowledge based on God’s word will produce a geniune experience of God and His power. The reason for this is that the power of God is revealed and experienced in His word. To know His word is to know and experience His power. So that you can know what to look for, what makes Christianity unique is its claim to an absolute written authority from God. The word of God is essential to your growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. The bible sets a standard by which we are to conform our life. In its pages, we see how God governs the detalls of our lives in every way. In today’s study we shall look at the word of God and its importance.

STUDY GUIDE
A THE ACCURACY OF GOD’S WORD

  1. The bible is the INSPIRED word of God.
    The Spirit of God moved men of God to write the word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
  2. The bible is the INFALLIBLE word of God.
    God holds himself to the truth of his word. Every word of the bible is perfect, and there is
    no error within it. Proverbs 22:20-21
  3. The bible is the COMPLETE word of God.
    We are warned not to add to or change the inspired, perfect, and preserved word of God. God’s Word is complete; Proverbs 30:5-6
    4.The bible is the PRESERVED word of God.
    God’s word is eternal. He has promised to preserve his perfect word throughout history and for every generation. Mathew 5:18.

B. THE APPLICATION OF GOD’S WORD
The Word Of God Has The Power To Save.

  1. The bible says that the word of God is able to save your souls. James 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:15
  2. The only way we can know the gospel is because the bible reveals it. Romans 10:17; Ephesians 1:13
  3. God’s plan of salvation begins with hiem sending out his word so that man can be saved Mathew 28. 18-20. Romans 10:13-15

The Word Of God Has The Power To Guide.
1 Our own natural intellect can never fully comprehend the things of God. God gave us the Spirit of God so that we can know and understand his word. John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 29-14

  1. As you begin to study and understand the bible, you will become equipped to make biblical and spiritual decisions in your life. 1 Corinthians 2:15-16: Psalm 119:105

The Word Of God Has The Power To Grow.

  1. The word of God transforms you as it cleanses you from the inside out. John 15.3.
  2. Psalm 119.9-11 The word of God helps you to overcome spiritual opposition as you apply scripture to your temptation. Luke 4:1-13
  3. The word of God equips you to serve God and to live out its truths. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
    a. Doctrine. The bible teaches you what is true.
    b. Reproof. The bible reveals areas in your life that are wrong.
    c.Correction. The bible directs your attention to what is right.
    d. Instruction in Righteousness. The bible teaches you to live what is right.

C. WHAT WORK THE WORD DOES?
Store away the Scripture in your mind and heart.

  1. It will keep you from sin “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against
  2. you.” (Psalms 119:11.). From false doctrine (Acts 20:29, 30, 32, 2 Timothy. 3:13-15).
  3. It will fill your heart with joy (Jeremiah 15:16), and peace (Psalms. 85:8).
  4. It will give you the victory over the Evil One (1 John 2:14)
  5. It will give you power in prayer (John 15:7)
  6. It will make you wiser than the aged and your enemies (Psalms. 119:100, 98, 130.)
  7. It will make you “complete, furnished completely unto every good work.”(2 Tim. 3:16, 17)

CONCLUSION: The Bible is the Word of God, and we get the best out of any book by studying it as what it is. It is often said that we should study the Bible just as we study any other book. That principle contains a truth.

LIFE APPLICATION: We must know the Mind of God; here it is revealed. INVITATION: God Himself is the Bible; He is calling you today.
