LESSON FORTY SEVEN (47)
TOPIC: GIVE TO THE NEEDY

BIBLE TEXT: Matthew 25:34-40
[34]Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
[35]for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
[36]I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
[37]“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
[38]When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
[39]Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
[40]And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 41:1 “Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble”.

LESSON AIM: To let the children know the importance of giving.

CENTRALTRUTH: God loves a cheerful giver.

INTRODUCTION: Jesus Christ taught his disciples on the importance of giving to the hungry, naked, thirsty, sick and strangers. He even says, if we give to these categories of people we are indeed giving to Him. The believers that cuitvate the habit of giving to the needy will inherit etemal life. Matthew 25:46.

  5. Money – Deuteronomy 15:7-8
    6 Counsel- Proverbs 31:8-9
  6. Mercy and justice – Matthew 23:23
    8 Time – Matthew 19:14

D. REWARDS

  1. Inhertance in heaven – Matthew 25:44-46
  2. Blessing – Luke 6:38, John 6:9-13
  3. Rewards from God – Mark 9:41
  4. Answered prayer – Genesis 18:8-9

CONCLUSION: The righteous that gives to the needy shall inherit the kingdom of God.

INVITATION: Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour so that you can receive grace to give.

ACTIVITY: Pray to God to give you the opportunity to give to the needy.

LIFE APPLICATION: You must follow Jesus example in meeting the needs of God’s people. Luke 6:38a says “Give and it shall be given unto you. Remember givers never lack.
