MEMORY VERSE: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” – Acts 2:38
BIBLE PASSAGE: Luke 11:9-13 (KJV)
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
LESSON INTRODUCTION: The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the experience of the Holy Spirit coming into a person’s life. The word that is translated baptism means “to be immersed; to be totally covered” and can be understood by looking at the physical demonstration of water baptism. When we come to be baptised in water after we have been saved, we go down into the water and the water completely covers us. we are immersed, totally under the water. When we receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, we are totally immersed and covered and filled with the Holy Ghost. Jesus also used the word baptism in connection with the outpouring of the Holy Ghost. He explained to His disciples that just as John was baptised with water, they would be baptised with the Holy Ghost. The word, baptised, gave His followers an idea of what they were to expect – that they would be immersed in the Spirit.

B. The process of baptism in the Holy Ghost involves:
i. Finding time to come before the presence of God, our Maker, in worship, praise, thanksgiving and with a right mind (Ps.100:4; Ps.66:18).
ii. The focus of attention at this time should be Jesus, who is the Author and the Finisher of our faith and the Rewarder of the faithful and the diligent (Heb.12:1-2; Heb.11:6).
iii. After asking prayerfully and in faith, the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance which is evidenced in the speaking of tongues (Acts 2:1-4 Acts 10:44-46).
C. This baptism initiates the believer into POWER, the divine ability to do exploits, “greater works than these” as Jesus prophesied (Lk.24:49; Jn.14:12).
CLASS ACTIVITY 2: Class should share the experience of the manifesting power of the Holy Ghost in them after the baptism.

RCCG Sunday School HYMN
- O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
O how I love Thee well,
I am happy, it makes me glad
To rejoice at Thy birth. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Thy friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School. - O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?
