RCCG LOWER JUNIOR ZEAL FOR 2024/2025
AGE 4-5 TEACHER’S MANUAL
SUNDAY 1ST OF SEPTEMBER, 2024
LESSON ONE (1)
TOPIC: SALVATION

BIBLE TEXT: John 3:1-21
[1]There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
[2]The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
[3]Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[4]Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6]That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7]Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
[8]The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
[9]Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
[10]Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
[11]Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
[12]If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
[13]And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
[14]And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
[15]That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
[16]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[17]For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18]He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
[19]And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
[20]For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
[21]But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

MEMORY VERSE: Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice, and open the door, I will come into to him”.

LESSON AIM: Jesus is the Saviour of the World.

CHILD RELATED TRUTH: Only Jesus can save you from sin.

INTRODUCTION: Hello, my little one! My name is Jesus, and I love you very much, I came down to earth and gave my life to you because I love you! If you ask me to come and live in your heart, I’m with you always. I will never leave you and someday I will take you home with me to a beautiful place called heaven.
Salvation means to be saved from sin (born again).

PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
A. Nicodemus, one of the religious leaders went to see Jesus at night.
B. He said to Jesus “your miracle show that you are a teacher from God.
C. Jesus said to Nicodemus no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. (Nicodemus has never heard of being born again. so he said that does one becomes a baby again and enter his mother’s womb and born the second time? when you are born a sinner. psalm 51:5)

What Is Sin?
Sin is anything you and i think, do or say that does not please God. we are all born with sinful nature. (Romans 3: 23, we are to be punished for our sins).
D. Still not understanding what Jesus said Nicodemus “How can these things be?
E. Jesus rebuked him by asking “are you the teacher in Israel, and do not know this things?
F. Jesus explained God’s plan to save the world from sin. (God sent his son Jesus Christ to save man from sin, He told him a story of what happened when the Israelite left Egypt and are in wilderness, but sin against God and serpent bit them. then Moses cried to God and God told him to make a brazen serpent and who so ever looked up to the brazen serpent will be saved roman 10:13, Hebrew 9 says without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Jesus shed his blood so that you can have your sin forgiven).
G. God does not want sinners to perish so he made a plan of salvation. John 3:16 when you receive Jesus as your saviour from sin you become saved.

CLIMAX: Sometimes later Nicodemus was born again (saved) and become a follower of Jesus.

CONCLUSION: After Jesus crucifixion, Nicodemus took spices and prepare the body of Jesus for burial (John 19:38-42).

INVITATION: Nicodemus listened carefully to what Jesus told him, what about you today you have heard God’s plan so that you can be born again. You must be born again to have your sin forgiven. (John3:16) Jesus said “whosoever believe in him shall not perish. (Be separated from God forever) but have everlasting life.” Jesus is saying the same thing to you today. Tell him “Lord Jesus I have disobeyed your commandment, i know I deserved to be punished, thanks for dying on the cross for my sins. Today I want to believe in you as my saviour and to be born into your forever family. When you pray this prayer believe you have been saved from your sins. You have salutation through Jesus Christ.

CHALLENGE: If you forever believe in Jesus, you have been born again. Thank God for making you a new person. Thank him for allowing you to be part of His family. Thank Him that you have been saved from the punishment of sin.
