LESSON ONE (1)
TOPIC: SALVATION

BIBLE TEXT: Romans 10:9-10
[9]That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[10]For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

MEMORY VERSE: Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

LESSON AIM: To let the children know the meaning of salvation and how it’s important to Christianity

CENTRAL TRUTH: Salvation is the main key to Heaven

INTRODUCTION: To understand what salvation is, we must first know salvation comes from God and that it is the work carried out by God for the sake of saving mankind, corrupted by Satan, so that in the end we can gain salvation in God’s word and work, this has to do with how a Christian can live a better life today and, ultimately, live forever in the future! Every human being (except for Jesus Christ) has sinned. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The penalty for sin is death. The penalty for sin is death. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). Sin causes every person to earn the death penalty. Once we have sinned, we earn the penalty of death and there’s nothing we can do to remove that penalty ourselves. We have to be delivered from it. So man needs to be saved delivered from eternal death and to be given the gift of God, which is eternal life. That is why salvation is necessary, and why Jesus came to the earth as a human being. In this lesson we will explain the meaning of salvation, how to be saved and the process of salvation.

STUDY GUIDE
A. WHAT IS SALVATION? The Hebrew words used to signify salvation, yasa (to save, help in distress, rescue, deliver, set free) appears most frequently in the Old Testament. Salvation is described as the mystery of God that is now revealed (Eph 3:9; 6:19),
i. A plan conceived before the foundations of the world (Eph 1:3-14),
ii. A light for revelation to the Gentiles (Luke 2:30-32),
iii. A transition from death to life (John 5:24),
iv. A message especially for sinners (Mark 2:17),
v. A gift of grace through faith not of works (Eph 2:8-9), that for which the whole creation groans (Rom 8:22),
vi. The revelation of God’s righteousness to faith and for faith (Rom 1:16-17),
vil. The justification that comes through faith (Rom 4:22-25),
viii. Reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18-19), and redemption (Rom 8:23). In response to Nicodemus’s statement, salvation is said to be a spiritual birth, a birth from above without which one cannot enter the kingdom (John 3:1-11).
ix. Salvation means death to and freedom from sin (Rom 6),
x. A new perspective that transcends the human point of view and participation in a new creation (Rom 5:16-17),
xi. Peace with God (Rom 5:1),
xii. Life as adopted children of God’s (Gal 4:4), xiii. Baptism into Christ’s death (Rom 6:4), and xiv. The reception of the Holy Spirit. Rom 5:8.

B. STEPS TO SALVATION
God loves us. He does not want us to be punished for our sins. Therefore, He has provided a way for us to be forgiven (John 3:16). God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins (1 John 4:10). Jesus suffered the punishment which we should have received for our sins (Isaiah 53:4-6). He did not die for His own sins, for He had none (2 Corinthians 5:21).
What does one have to do in order to be forgiven of his sins? He must:
i. Listen to the Gospel of Christ. Rom. 10:17
ii. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Matt. 16:16, Mark 16:16
iii. Repent of all your past sins. Acts 17:30-31, 2 Cor. 7:10.
iv. Confess. Matt. 16:18, Rom. 10:8-10.
v. Be baptized for the remission of sins. Rom. 6:3-4, Mark 16:16.

C. BENEFITS OF SALVATION When you trust in Christ as your Savior, you will receive salvation. In addition to the eternal benefit of salvation, which is everlasting life with Christ in heaven. Hence, the benefits of salvation are as follows:
i. Peace with God (Romans 5:1)
ii. Free access to God (Romans 5:2a)
iii. Joy unlimited (Romans 5:11) iv. Access to God’s plan.
v. Hope in God. (Rom 5:2b)
vi. Victory through God (Romans 5:3-4)
vii. Love of God (Romans 5:5a)
viii. The Holy Spirit from God (Romans 5:5b-8)
ix. Deliverance by God (Romans 5:9-10)
x Access to God’s power. Rom. 1:16.

CONCLUSION: The message of salvation can save the worst of sinners. No one is beyond hope. All who believe are justified from all things. We only have to believe this message to be saved. Nothing else. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.

LIFE APPLICATION: Are you saved from your sins? Have you taken these simple steps to salvation? If not, why not do so today?

INVITATION: Answer the call of salvation today, and it shall be well with you.
