“For Thine arrows have sunk deep into me, and Thy hand has pressed down on me.” – PSALM 38:2

Psalm 38 is the sound of a man hitting bottom. It was written by King David after his sin with Bathsheba. It records the suffering of sin, the penalty of sin, the loneliness of sin, and the confession of sin.

Healing begins when a person is able to say, “My life is spinning out of control, and I cannot recover on my own power.” But because we try to present a spotless image, we find it tough to admit we’re out of control. Instead we try to control life’s circumstances and other people. We even try to control God! Isn’t it ironic that the way to victory is NOT to maintain control, but to acknowledge we have lost it?

Is there an area of your life that is out of control? Admit it to God and let His healing work begin.
