“He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” -John 14:21
Love entrusts itself to the beloved. But John 2:25 said He would not entrust Himself to those interested merely in His miracles. God is eager to reveal Himself fully to us, and Jesus is His means of revelation. But curiosity—a matter of the “head”—won’t gain us this level of intimate revelation.
Love is an issue of the “heart,” and Jesus discloses Himself only to those whose hearts are His. Those who seek Him with the “head” may know about Him, but those who love Him with their hearts will know Him.
