IT’S ABOUT FOLLOWING HIS WORD

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come (John 16:13).

In yielding to the Holy Spirit, you must yield to His Word. To yield isn’t merely a physical act, like dropping your shoulders or curling up in submission. It goes beyond outward behaviour. Even if you physically appear submissive, it’s possible to still be rebellious on the inside. Yielding comes from the heart.

Therefore, yielding to the Lord means to give yourself to what He tells you to do. It’s about following His Word. You aren’t truly yielded to Him if you don’t follow His Word, because He’s one with the Word. If you truly desire to understand and walk in God’s perfect will consistently, as well as grasp His judgments and perspectives on all matters of life, it’s essential to study and meditate on the Scriptures and follow everything the Word of God says.

Allow the Word of God to live through you and gain mastery over your thinking. The more you allow the Word of God to dominate your mind, your decisions, your perspectives, and the way you see things, the more the Holy Spirit controls your life. He leads you through His Word. There’re so many voices in the world, but the Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27).

Also, Isaiah 30:21 says, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it….” How can you judge the voice that you hear? Only through your knowledge of God’s Word can you discern and follow His leading. So, immerse yourself in the Word and allow it to shape every area of your life.

Prayer / Confession

Dear Father, your Word dominates my thoughts, decisions, actions, and shapes my life in alignment with your divine will. My heart is continually opened to your Word, to instruct and guide me in the path of your perfect will, guiding me into all truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
