Topic: Relevant To One Another

Memorise: So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the other. Romans 12:5

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:18-25

18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.

19 If they were all one part, where would the body be?

20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”

22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,

23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,

24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,

25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.

Bible In One Year: Genesis 31-32; Matthew 10:24-42

MESSAGE:

The Church as a building is a place where those who have been called out of darkness fellowship and mingle. It is also the Body of Christ while Christ Himself is the Head. Hence, believers are the Body of Christ. So, just as the human body needs every part to function well, the Body of Christ needs to be together, no matter the gift or talent of individuals. The entire body needs every part to function well. Therefore, it would be wrong for any fellow to look down on others because he or she has a gift they don’t have. For instance, you need your two hands to tie your shoe lace: imagine that your left hand decides not to work with the right because it is the hand that you use in cleaning up after using the toilet. Will it be possible to tie your shoe lace neatly?

No. If for any reason you look down on anyone in the body of Christ, you are bringing disunity and God will not be happy with you. In the Church, everyone is relevant to one another.

Action Point:

Father, please let there be unity in the Body of Christ.

Hymn 9: Hymn 4: Amazing Grace! How Sweet

1.Amazing grace! how sweet the sound!
That saved a wretch like me;
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

2.Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

3.Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
‘Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

4.Yes, when this heart and flesh shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
