SPECIAL REVIVAL HOUR MESSAGE
DATE: JULY 16, 2020
PREACHER: OUR FATHER IN THE LORD, PASTOR W. F. KUMUYI
TOPIC: THE COMPANION THAT NEVER FAILS
TEXT: EXODUS 3:12; 4:12

Exodus 3:12
And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.

Exodus 4:12
Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Is this not wonderful? The Lord said He would go with Moses while he was still wondering, can I be what God wants me to be? Can I do what He wants me to do? Can I approach Pharaoh the tyrant? But the Lord said, “Certainly, without any shadow of doubt, I will be with you”.

And what comfort that should give Moses and us today that the God of the heavens and the earth, the One who parted the Red Sea, the One who brought down the walls of Jericho, who provided manna for three million people, the One who stopped the sun in the skies and made adequate provision for His people. The conquering One, the Creator, the mighty One who will ever fail has promised He will be with you! It is indeed wonderful!

This coming year, the Lord might call you to face a Pharaoh, a Nebuchadnezzar or an Herod, and you are afraid, wondering how you could do that because you are a stammerer, and you are not eloquent but God is telling you, “Certainly, I will be with you”. You might think that you are in a place of danger and difficulty, a place where other people have tried and failed, the Lord is telling you, “Certainly, I will be with you”.

At times you might say, “I don’t know how to begin, what will I say if they call me to question about the call and conviction I have or the direction the Lord is leading me to go?” The Lord is saying He will be with you, with your mouth and teach you what to say (Exodus 4:12) He is the companion that never fails, and He will never fail. He is the one that conquers every difficulty and challenges, mountains melt before Him, seas dry up before Him, enemies flee before Him, If He says all the enemies will flee before you, then there is nothing to fear.

Deuteronomy 31:23. You will be strong in Jesus name. The race is not for the weak with weak minds, weak knees, weak reasoning and words, utterances and language, love, faith, everything is weak… The race ahead of us is not for the weak because there are giants and difficulties ahead, it will take people who are strong in faith, love and conviction to be able to cope. The Lord will make you strong in Jesus name. Amen.

Be strong and of a good courage. There is bad courage: deliberately jumping in front of a moving vehicle, jumping down from a high building, thereby flouting the law of gravity, deliberately associating with someone who is HIV positive, etc. Rather, we are talking about the kind of courage that leads you from good to better, from better to the best. That is why you have to be strong and of a good courage. Not the courage of rebellion or disobedience, but the courage of total obedience to the word of God.

Joshua 1:5. The Lord will neither leave nor forsake you. When you go through the waters, you will not be drowned. When you go through the fire, it will not burn or consume you. He will not leave you until He has accomplished all that He promised you. Amen.

A. THE PROMISE OF DIVINE COMPANIONSHIP. Exodus 33:14-15
God is promising to give us rest. The past years of panic, restlessness, turmoil and agitations are gone. So there is no more reason to run helter-skelter. God said His presence will go with you and He will give you His rest. Ask for the companionship of God so He can lead you all the way, you cannot do without it. Moses said if God will not go with them, they will not go (Isaiah 41:10) Do not be afraid, the enemies cannot do anything. Fear thou not at the Red Sea. Fear thou not in the presence of the Amalekites, all the enemies that overpowered you in the past when you did not have the companionship of God are now paralyzed and impotent. They will never be able to hurt or harm you. The Lord will help you when you get into any problem or need. He will uphold you with His right hand of righteousness.

ch 43:2. God is saying when you go through flood of waters and rivers that drown other people, it will not drown you. When you pass through fire, you will not be burnt and the flame will not kindle against you. Wherever you go, He will go with you till the end of the journey. Amen.

Jeremiah 15:20-21

  • 20 And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
  • 21 And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

When you know this promise, why are you afraid? Be not afraid.

II Chronicles 15:2. This promise is conditional. The Lord will be with you as long as you remain with Him, in His will and His word. The children of Israel assumed that the Lord will always be with them even when they commit sin (Joshua 7:11) Sin sets a barrier between us and God. God told Joshua that the accursed thing must be removed before He will go before them to battle and be with them forever.

Psalm 91:14-15. The Lord wants us to set our love upon Him, we love His standard and truth, we love what He loves, and hate what He hates. We will hate sin and reject evil. He will answer our prayer if we hate sin, reject evil and do good. He will be with and deliver us from trouble, He will satisfy us with long life.

B. PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DIVINE COMPANION

  • When you are in partnership with the rich, you have the confidence that you will never be poor.
  • When you are in companionship with a wise man, you will say that your foolishness is gone.
  • When you are in companionship with an educated person, you will say that all the consequences of your illiteracy are gone.
  • In a partnership with a healer, you will say sicknesses are gone from your life forever.

When the Lord stays and abides with you according to His promise, there is a result (Genesis 39:2-3,23) The Lord was with Joseph and he became a prosperous, rich man who succeeded in all he laid his hands upon. When the companionship of the Lord is there, everyone around us will see. All the people around Joseph knew that the Lord was with him. We will be a blessing to everyone around us. That is why the Lord is saying we should stay with Him so that we will prosper. All the promises of God are conditional.

I Samuel 2:29-30. God has promised to be with Eli and make his ministry prosperous. But Eli and his children took God and His promises for granted. He honored his children above God. God does not want your children, husband, wife, to take His place, do not let any of them be your God. God’s promises are based on our obedience.

II Chronicles 26:5,16-21. Some people, when they are poor, jobless, without husband, wife and children, they are very humble, but immediately they get what they are looking for, they become proud. Uzziah was humble when he first became king, but when he became strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction. He took up a position that was not his and when 81 priests of the Lord challenged him, he was angry and became a leper till the end of his life. Some people excuse anger, calling it righteous indignation, they are angry with their pastor, preacher, counselor and the one who is directing them in the way of the Lord. Partnership with God demands that we stay with Him all the time.

Hebrews 10:38-39. The just shall live by faith. Some people live in fear whereas, God has told us that as long as we stay by His side, He will be with us. As believers, we must live by faith. We have go with the Lord all the way through.

Psalm 46:1-5
1 (To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

God is our refuge and strength, we will not be afraid. Help will come to us from Him but we have to be faithful to Him, and be obedient to His word. All these will make Him to help us right early.

Amos 3:3
Can two walk together except they be agreed?
Partnership with the Lord is based on agreement. When He says you should repent, you will obey, when He says He delights in righteousness, you agree, when He says without holiness, no one can see Him, you agree, when He says we shall receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon us, you agree, when He says one man, one woman till death does them part, you agree. Agreement with the way of God and all He wants is the basis for the companionship.

He will make everything prosper in your hands when you keep to your side of the agreement.

C. THE PURPOSE OF DIVINE COMPANIONSHIP. Genesis 28:15
It is the promise of God to be with us till the end of the journey, what is the purpose of the companionship? He will bring us back to where He promised us. God will not leave us until He has accomplished all that He spoke to us of (Joshua 1:5-9) No one will be able to stand before us and stop us in our journey. We have to be strong and be of good courage. Do not turn to the left or to the right from everything you have heard from the word of God since you became born again, from your quiet time, messages heard in the different services, and every doctrine. This is so that you will prosper in all that you do.

Meditate on the word of God day and night,

  • Do not meditate on what your enemies say,
  • Do not meditate on what society says,
  • Do not meditate on what ignorant friends who do not know the word of God say,
  • Do not meditate on what backsliders say,
  • Do not meditate on what new converts who do not know their left from their right say,
  • Do not agree with what persecutors say.

Some people have bad success:

  • Bad success is when you do not have time for your wife and children, but you spend all your time looking for money here and there. You get the money but your home is broken! Bad success!
  • Someone who is running after education and certificates, while abandoning the work of God. He gets all the certificates and all the promotion losing the privilege of serving God. Bad success!
  • Bad success is when someone runs up and down, after this and that, and eventually, breaks his leg, bones, heart and life, he has money but it is useless. Bad success!

But when God gives you success, it is all encompassing. Your spiritual, physical, family, personal life are all successful.

  • Do not be like the ignorant people who run after money day and night that they do not even have time for God and their family, other good things and they cannot sleep or enjoy the money. Bad success!
  • At times, pastors think it is good success when they get invitations to preach all over the world. They go here and there preaching and making names whereas, the whole congregation that God is going to ask them questions about is scattered. Success overseas and everywhere but the primary assignment is gone. Bad success!

God wants us to gather ourselves, our lives, and minds together. Obey Him in all things. This is what He will reward us on.

  • Some workers abandon the work the Lord has committed to their hands and poke their noses into other things that do not concern them. They fail in their primary assignment and succeed in other areas that is none other business. Bad success!
  • Do not abandon what God has committed into your hands. Do not be like the man who abandoned the man committed to his care while he was busy here and there, the man got missing and his own life went for it. Bad success!

For you to have good success, give time to your family, local church, your life and personal development. Do not respond to anyone who makes you afraid. Fear will ruin your life. Live by faith and love, these two will conquer the world. Fear is an old instrument the devil uses. If God says you should not be afraid and you are afraid, that is disobedience. Live by faith!

Acts 18:9-10. Your much success, prosperity and achievement are in this city, stay in it and get the best of God for your life (vs 11) Then Paul continued because God assured him to do so and he prospered in the work given to him. We will continue with the work of the Lord. We are people who continue!

Psalm 91:1-16
Do not be afraid of anyone, go anywhere you want to go, be in the the place you need to be, stand courageously where you are. Remain in your community, do not allow anyone to drive you away, all that they do will not come near you.

Go to the right and left, city and village, there shall no evil befall you. In the town, on the road, in your district or group, there shall no evil befall you. In your family and among your friends and neighbours, there shall no evil befall you. Go to the market and when you come to your house, there shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. Amen.

The Lord will set you on high. By the next time I see you, you will share testimonies of your success and progress with me because something good is on your way. Amen.

The Lord will be with us in trouble, no trouble will be able to overcome us. He will deliver and honour us. He will satisfy us with long life. We will see one another again in peace.

When you are pregnant, you will deliver, you will not die during childbirth or prematurely, there will be no miscarriage in your life. Your competitors in business will not take your life. You will enjoy your money, you will enjoy your husband and wife, everything you have you will enjoy. No one will challenge you on all that you have. Amen.

LONG LIFE! LONG LIFE!! LONG LIFE!!! Amen!

Prayer:

  • Tell the Lord you receive all these blessings by faith,
  • Pray for our Pastor and his family that they will enjoy long life in peace and good health in Jesus name. Amen.
