Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.2. ” But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, [Though] you are little among the thousands of Judah, [Yet] out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth [are] from of old, From everlasting.”3. Therefore He shall give them up, Until the time [that] she who is in labor has given birth; Then the remnant of His brethren Shall return to the children of Israel.4. THE MESSAGE:In exactly fifteen days, Christians will be commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas. Jesus is God’s chosen Messiah, not just because He Himself said that about Himself, but also because God foretold that long time ago through the prophets. Today’s passage is one of such prophecies. Micah predicts that this Shepherd-Messiah will protect the faithful (verse 4), bring peace to them (verse 5), and unify and preserve God’s people (verse 3). Ultimately the authority and influence of this Messiah will extend not just among His followers, but to the ends of the earth. In one of Christ’s final talks to His disciples, He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.

Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27).Because of Christ’s first coming, we have the opportunity to experience peace with God with no more fear of judgment and no more conflicts and guilt. Christ’s peace gives us assurance; at Christ’s second coming, all wars, conflicts and weapons will be destroyed (4:3-5). 1f your faith is in Christ today, you are truly blessed. However, if your faith is not yet in Christ, it is crucial that you consider accepting Him into your heart today.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I give You my life; may Your presence bring complete peace for me
