TOPIC: TREASURES IN EARTHEN VESSELS

READ: 2 CORINTHIANS 4:7-15 (NKJV)7. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.8. [We are] hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair;9. persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed –10. always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.11. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.12. So then death is working in us, but life in you.13. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,14. knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present [us] with you.15. For all things [are] for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.*THE MESSAGE:*The Gospel is a treasure that holds promise for this life and eternity. Jesus compared it to a pearl of great value that a merchant found went and sold all he had and bought (Matthew 13:45-46). The Gospel reveals the incomparably great power of God to us whom believe (Ephesians 1:3, 18-19). We are given authority to drive out demons, heal the sick, raise the dead and triumph over all the powers of the devil (Luke 10:9, 19-20). We can pray earnestly over an issue or situation, and receive answers from God (James 5:16-18)Have you enjoyed these treasures in your life or ministry? If not, ask God and wait patiently for them (Matthew 7:7; 21:21). Verse 7 shows that such great treasures of the Gospel are held in us mortals who can be compared with earthen vessels. Earthen vessels do not withstand pressure. They are easily broken. But as we depend on God, we can triumph over any situation that He permits to come. Do the situations around you make you feel hard-pressed, perplexed, persecuted or struck down? Read verses 8 to 10 and encourage yourself in the Lord. Believe and confess Romans 8:37 that you are more than a conqueror through Christ!*PRAYER:* Oh God, help me to depend on You daily for victory over every situation. Amen.
