TOPIC: GOD’S ROD IN YOUR HAND
READ: EXODUS 7:14-15 (NKJV)14. So the LORD said to Moses: “Pharaoh’s heart [is] hard; he refuses to let the people go.15. “Go to Pharaoh in the morning, when he goes out to the water, and you shall stand by the river’s bank to meet him; and the rod which was turned to a serpent you shall take in your hand.*THE MESSAGE:*Today’s passage shows God’s weapon which the LORD told Moses to use to guard himself as he confronted Pharaoh on his mission to rescue Israel from captivity – The “rod… which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand.” Though it was an ordinary staff commonly used by shepherds in his day, it became an extraordinary weapon in Moses’ hand with which he performed a number of miracles. For example, in Exodus 4:2-4, the rod became a snake, to show that, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob truly appeared to him. In Exodus 9:22-23, the LORD raised hail against the land of Egypt. With the rod, the LORD blew an east wind across Egypt that brought an invasion of locusts. The same rod brought total darkness over the whole of Egypt (Exodus 10:21-22).The miracle of parting and closing of the red sea was also with the rod – (Exodus 14:16, 21, 26-27). With the rod, Moses brought water from the rock in Horeb and Kadesh (Exodus 17:5-7; Numbers 20:8-13).As a believer in Christ, you have a “rod” in your hand with which you also can conquer every “Pharaoh” that may come against you. Apostle Paul has written that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds …” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6). So, he counsels all to, “put on the whole armour of God …” (Ephesians 6:1). Take God’s “rod” with you daily and be victorious.*PRAYER:* O Lord my God, thank You for the weapons of warfare You have given me; I am more than a conqueror, in Jesus Christ name. Amen
