TOPIC: A TIME CREATED FOR EVERYTHING
READ: ECCLESIASTES 3:1-8 (NKJV)1. To everything [there is] a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:2. A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck [what is] planted;3. A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up;4. A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance;5. A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;6. A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away;7. A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak;8. A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace.*THE MESSAGE:*Everything that happens under the sun has its own time and this time is either fixed by humans or by nature. Humans can plan and fix a time to do something. e.g. marriage, but the time to die is fixed by God. The Preacher, as the author is also known, says, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under the heaven” (verse 1). The writer therefore uses many contrasting opposites to make his point clear. These remind humans of their state and the state of other things – they show that nothing is permanent in life. There is a time of pain and a time of relief; a time for sorrow and a time for joy. The Psalmist says, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5b).God has an eternal plan that includes the purposes and activities of every person on earth. We must give ourselves to God as holy sacrifices, allow the Holy Spirit to accomplish God’s plan for us and be careful not to go out of God’s will thereby missing His timing and purpose for our lives. Let us be reminded that whatever anyone experiences in life is not permanent.*PRAYER:* Dear God, let Your will for my life be done in Jesus’ Name. Amen
