TOPIC: Beyond Comprehension
READ: John 1:1-5 (NKJV)
- In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
- He was in the beginning with God.
- All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
- In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
- And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
THE MESSAGE:
The Gospel according to St. John opens with these verses of deeper revelation about Jesus Christ. First, Jesus is beyond existence for He was before the world began. Secondly, He is part of the Trinity. Thirdly, He is the first Cause of all creation. Fourthly, He alone is the Life Source of Light, without Him is total darkness. Fifthly, He incarnated into the world and by the light of His life, He drives out darkness. Lastly, the devil could not comprehend or apprehend His light –Satan could not stop the light!
God’s plan to illuminate the world through Jesus has its continuity in the ministry of the Church. If the Church is wiped out of existence, then that plan of God would end! This is impossible! Darkness cannot apprehend the light of Christ. No satanic agenda can end the existence of the Church – we should embrace this truth. What should trouble us as Christians is whether actually we are driving darkness away in our society by the light of our lives. Let this engage our whole being rather than being worried about satanic agenda against the Church.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, grant unto me the life of Christ that I may drive darkness away by the light of my life.
