TOPIC: THE DESCRIPTION OF FALSE TEACHER
READ: 2 PETER 2: 1-3 (NKJV)
1. But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, [and] bring on themselves swift destruction.
2. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
3. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.
THE MESSAGE:
In this scripture, Apostle Peter says that false teachers would always secretly introduce or bring in destructive heresies into the Church.
However, they do not do this openly but deceptively, quietly, secretly. Their strategy is to quietly teach their false and destructive heresies in the Church and among believers.
Any teaching that is contrary to God’s word is heresy; it destroys both spiritual and physical lives of the people and leads them to doom. Christians must beware of false teachers and their tactics in the Church. If they give attention to these false teachings, they run the risk of losing their salvation.
PRAYER: Eternal Father, deliver Your Church from the hands of false and destructive teachers in Jesus name. Amen.
