TOPIC: ACCREDITATION PROBLEM

READ: EXODUS 4:1-9 (NKJV)1. Then Moses answered and said, “But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, ‘The LORD has not appeared to you.’ “2. So the LORD said to him, “What [is] that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.”3. And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.4. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Reach out your hand and take [it] by the tail” (and he reached out his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand),5. “that they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”6. Furthermore the LORD said to him, “Now put your hand in your bosom.” And he put his hand in his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand [was] leprous, like snow.7. And He said, “Put your hand in your bosom again.” So he put his hand in his bosom again, and drew it out of his bosom, and behold, it was restored like his [other] flesh.8. “Then it will be, if they do not believe you, nor heed the message of the first sign, that they may believe the message of the latter sign.9. “And it shall be, if they do not believe even these two signs, or listen to your voice, that you shall take water from the river and pour [it] on the dry [land.] And the water which you take from the river will become blood on the dry [land.”]*THE MESSAGE:*Today’s Scripture is a continuation of chapter 3 of Exodus. God wanted to send Moses to Pharaoh so that Moses would lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. In today’s reading, Moses was unsure and insecure about his leading the people of Israel; he therefore proposed a hypothetical situation of people not believing him or not listening to him, or even saying that it was not God that sent him. In response to Moses’ question, God gave him 3 signs to accredit him as having been chosen by God. In our generation, many ministers of the gospel and believers face the problem of how they could make people believe they are true ministers called by God.Some print big banners, billboards and posters and put them in strategic places. Some advertise themselves by taking names such as demon destroyer, powerful man of God, anointed man of God, etc. Some of these people do not really advertise Christ; they market themselves and their ministries. If you want people to believe that God sent you, you must submit to the word of God, love what God loves and do what He would do because by their fruits, we shall know them. Again you must be faithful to God in all your ways; faithfulness will commend you to people, and not you commending yourself (2 Corinthians 10:18; 1 Corinthians 4:1-2). Finally, if you are a true and faithful believer in Christ, signs and wonders will follow you (Mark 16:17-18).*PRAYER:* Heavenly Father, please help me to submit to Your word, believe and obey You! Amen.
