  1. A Contemplation of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
  2. For I have said, “Mercy shall be built up forever; Your faithfulness You shall establish in the very heavens.”
  3. “I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David:
  4. ‘Your seed I will establish forever, And build up your throne to all generations.’ ” Selah
  5. And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O LORD; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints.
  6. For who in the heavens can be compared to the LORD? [Who] among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD?
  7. God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in reverence by all [those] around Him.

THE MESSAGE

Today’s passage attests to God’s unfailing mercy and faithfulness which stands from generation to generation. He has sworn to David, His chosen, that He will establish His line, and make His throne firm forever. Truly, God keeps covenant in His dealings with His people; His great loving-kindness is forever. The psalmist acknowledges that the heavens praise God for His wonders, his faithfulness in the assembly of the saints, and none of sons of the mighty can be likened to the Lord (vv.5-6). In verse 7 also, the psalmist states that God is greatly to be feared and reverenced by all. When we experience God’s mercies and faithfulness, we must make it known to others.

Also, as a heritage, we must make known to our children God’s faithfulness in our lives. God’s greatness, holiness, compassion, faithfulness and mercy are incomparably greater than all created things. He is God all by himself; there is no place for argument.

PRAYER: You are God, from beginning to the end. There’s no place for argument, you are God all by yourself. Amen
