SERVICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT – SUNDAY, 9TH AUGUST 2020

MESSAGE TOPIC: THE MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT

MESSAGE OBJECTIVE: Understanding the ministry of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is responsible for supernatural shifts in all realms of life.

SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF SUPERNATURAL SHIFT BY THE SPIRIT:

1. David’s life experienced a drastic shift in all realms as the Spirit came upon him when the prophet Samuel anointed him (1Sam. 16:13)
2. Daniel existed in a class of his own in Babylon by the agency of the Spirit (Dan. 5:11)
3. The Master Jesus shifted levels in all realms when the Spirit came upon Him at the waters of Jordan (Luke 3:21-23; 4:14)
4. Samson carried out supernatural feats by the agency and empowerment of the Holy Spirit (Judg. 14:5-6)
5. Isaiah prophetically spoke about the Spirit of God and the impact on those It comes upon (Isa. 61:1-3)
6. The disciples in the upper room shifted levels when the Holy Ghost descended (Acts 2:1-6)

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

The Holy Spirit is the third Personality of Divinity (1John 5:7; Gen. 1:1-3; 2Cor. 13:14; Luke 3:21-22)

THERE ARE THREE DISPENSATIONS:

1. The dispensation of the Father: The Father operated from creation and was fully in charge until the Son of God was born
2. The dispensation of the Son: The dispensation of the Son was from His birth to death and resurrection
3. The dispensation of the Holy Spirit: From the day of Pentecost, the dispensation of the Holy Spirit commenced and it shall continue until rapture.
   We are in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit and you must be on fire in the Holy Spirit!

HOW DIVINITY OPERATES (THREE-IN-ONE):

1. The Father oversees/determines (John 5:30)
2. The Son proclaims/declares (John 1:1)
3. The Spirit executes/delivers (Zech. 4:6)

EXAMPLES OF THREE-IN-ONE OPERATION:

The Sun is three in one:
The form of the Sun is like the Father
The Light of the Sun is like the Son
The Heat of the Sun is like the Spirit
Man is three in one:
Spirit, Soul and Body
Water is three in one:
Ice (Father), liquid(Son) and vapour (Spirit)
The Coconut is three in one:
The hard outer shell (The Father)
The eatable interior (The Son – John 6:35)
The water within (The Spirit – John 7:37-39)

WHAT IS THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?

1. Comforter (John 15:26; John 16:7-8)
2. Counsellor (Advisor)
3. Standby
4. Strengthener (Judg. 14:5-6)
5. Advocate
6. Intercessor (Rom. 8:26)
7. Teacher

HOW TO BENEFIT FROM THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:

1. Absolute surrender (Rom. 8:14)
2. Willingness to be guided (Rom)
3. Fervency in prayer (Eph. 6:18; 2Tim. 1:6NIV; Rom. 12:11; 1Thess. 5:17; 1Cor. 14:18)

PRAYERS:

Father, I thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive Your help and mercy. Holy Spirit, I welcome You into my life today; take Your place, move through me and set my life on fire for God. I receive the fire NOW!

Father, I receive fresh fire for prayer, fresh fire in the Holy Ghost; I receive it NOW!

Father, I come before You today to honour and adore You because You are God. Thank You for the privilege of Your Word. I ask today for a fresh baptism of Your Spirit. Holy Spirit, fill me afresh, and do Your work in my life, in Jesus’ Name.

Father, I receive fresh fire. Holy Ghost, I welcome Your ministry into my life; take Your place, fulfil Your role and perform Your assignment in my life NOW, in Jesus’ Name.

Father, by Your power, deliver Nigeria from the agenda of killers, kidnappers and terrorists; deliver Nigeria, oh Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

• Whatever realm you are trusting God to reach, you shall reach there in Jesus’ Name!
• Something drastic, dramatic and explosive is happening in your life right now!
• This month, the Holy Spirit shall work upon you in a manner that will take you by surprise
• You shall encounter personal revival – prayer life, worship and word revival
• You shall encounter life transformation; areas were you have faced battles and confrontations, transformation has arrived!
• That shame that the devil organised for you is returned back to that devil!
• Every garment of shame and reproach planned for you by the devil is set on fire!
• Every satanic weapon and archive against your life and destiny is destroyed!
• Every satanic verdict, counsel, and blackmail targeted against your life and destiny is arrested!
• The Holy Spirit is quickening someone’s mortal body; body parts that are challenged and sick are being touched and healed now!
