“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30 (KJV) Soul winning is an assignment for every believer. Today, God wants you to shine as a light wherever you are. You are not the light of the Church, you are the light of the world. So, stop hiding your light and let it shine.
One of the reasons why many people cannot go out on evangelism is their lifestyle. They are believers only in the Church, the moment they step out of the Church, their lives are a complete opposite. That should not be the case. Jesus did not save you only for the Church. Beloved, the Church is the place where you get equipped, but the world is the place where you shine as a light in a dark world.
Yes, the world would attempt to mock you and tell you the salvation experience is not real. Some people would want to make you feel inferior because you are saved. They make life in the world sound so good, yet deep within them, they are envious of you. When you meet the unbelievers and they are talking about a Christian, who is a worthy example of a believer, you hear awesome comments that make you wonder why they are not yet saved. In actual fact, they desire what you have, they wish they could have it, but somehow, they simply cannot imagine themselves saved.
When you meet such people, your assignment is to pray for them. Understand that you do not have the ability to save anyone, but you can pray for them. You can tarry before God until they turn to Jesus. Of course, the God who sees in secret will reward you openly, so do not go announcing to people that you are praying for them, but pray for them, birth their salvation in the spirit realm; and you will see it manifest in the physical. Soul winning is not the calling of a select few, it is an assignment for every believer.
