8 Days That Changed The World (Part 4)

“For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ. Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.” Romans 5:17-18

On the sixth day that changed the world, Jesus gave His life for you. Why did Jesus die such a brutal death? So that you could be forgiven and be saved. So that you could know freedom. Right where you are, if you don’t know Him, you can receive Him into your life today by saying, “Jesus, Savior of the world, I’m running into your arms. Cleanse me by your blood. Heal me by your stripes. Today I crown you Lord of my life.”

On day seven, the disciples laid the natural body of Jesus in the borrowed tomb of Joseph of Arimathea. Then came day eight. This was the best day of all! Early in the morning as the sun begin to rise, the Bible said that the women came to the tomb with spices to anoint the body of Jesus. Nicodemus came with mur (which was embalming fluid) when he heard Jesus had died. He was basically saying, “He’s dead and buried and so let’s embalm Him.” But the women brought spices to anoint Him. There’s a great lesson in that. You can either approach your problem, the situation that the enemy says is over, with an embalming spirit or you can approach it with an anointing spirit.

The scripture said when they got into the tomb, there was an angel sitting on top of the stone that had been rolled away. Jesus wasn’t there. Think about it. It all started in a garden- the Garden of Eden and all ended in a garden- the garden of Gethsemane. In the Garden of Eden Adam took a fall, but in the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus took a stand. In the Garden of Eden Satan led Adam to a tree that produced sin. But when they came and arrested Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, they led Him to a tree called Calvary that produced life. And today, because there’s an empty tomb, one of these days we’re gonna see our loved ones again who have gone to Heaven because Jesus defeated death. The Bible says, “Oh grave, where is your victory? Oh death, where is your sting?” The message of Easter is, through Jesus Christ we have eternal life. Our last breath here is our first breath over there. We’ll never die. When you have eternal life you cannot die. Jesus reigns victorious!
