A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE AND GREATER EMPOWERMENT (2)

1 CORINTHIANS 15:10(TPT); 1 CORINTHIANS 14:18, ROMANS 12:1(NIV)

But God’s amazing grace has made me who I am! And his grace for me was not fruitless. Infact I worked harder than all the rest, yet not in my own strength but God, for his empowering grace is poured out upon me, I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than you all…. I urge you Brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God…..

Today we continue on our study on how the revelation of the grace of God does not stop us from doing the right things; but rather makes us do them with a different perspective and with greater empowerment . In our last text above, Paul was urging believers to present their bodies as living sacrifices; holy and pleasing unto God in view or because of the great mercies God has shown us in Christ. When we truly understand the grace of God it doesn’t make us want to sign; it makes us hate sin and it teaches us to deny ungodliness, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives (Tit. 2: 11-12, NIV). It was the revelation of the grace of God that made the Macedonian church give to Paul and other believers more than every other church did. (2 Cor. 8:1, Phil 4:15). It made Paul more zealous for God’s work than every other apostle. We must therefore never accept any nation that makes us believe that the revelation of the grace of God will make us lazy or unholy in any way.

One major sign that what we are being inspired and enabled by the grace of God to do the good things we are doing is genuine humility. We would keep giving all the praise and glory to God; acknowledging that everything we are is by the grace of God and we will stop putting our faith in our abilities or anything from us or men. We’ ll fully rely on Christ and the abundant grace God has bestowed on us through Christ.

Prayer:
Father, may the revelation of your grace make me pray, fast, give, live holy, work hard and be more zealous for you than ever.
