Memorise: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38

Read: Proverbs 11:24-25

  1. There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
  2. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself

Bible In One Year: Ezekiel 4-6; Hebrews 10:1-39

MESSAGE:

Many people have failed to realise that giving is for the benefit of the giver and not the receiver. Whatever you give has left your hand but can never leave your life because you will definitely receive its reward. Solomon in the Bible is an example of a person who gave generously and got the reward. At the opening ceremony of the temple he built for God, he offered thousands of rams so much that he attracted the God’s attention. In the night, God appeared to Solomon and asked him to make a request. He only requested for wisdom, and in addition, God gave him understanding, wealth, peace and other blessings. People respected him, and came from far places to give him gifts for his wisdom. It was even recorded that Solomon never went to war.

Never take any opportunity to give to God or to man for granted because you are simply loading your sky and when it rains, it would rain abundance of blessings upon you. Learn from Solomon.

Key Point:

Stop giving sparingly. Give bountifully and cheerfully.

Hymn: Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose

  1. Christian, seek not yet repose
    Hear thy gracious Savior say;
    Thou art in the midst of foes:
    Watch and pray.
  2. Principalities and power
    Mustering their unseen array
    Wait for the unguarded hours:
    Watch and pray
  3. Gird the heavenly armor on,
    Wear it ever night and day;
    Ambushed lies the evil one:
    Watch and pray.
  4. Hear the victors who o’ercame,
    Still they mark each warrior’s way;
    All with one sweet voice exclaim,
    Watch and pray.
  5. Hear, above all, hear thy Lord,
    Him thou loves to obey;
    Hide within thy heart His word:
    Watch and pray.
  6. Watch, as if on that alone
    Hung the issue of the day;
    Pray, that help may be sent down:
    Watch and pray.
