A Second Chance

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor the will of man, but of God.”

John 1:12-13

US Navy Captain Tom Joyce survived the 9/11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon. When he arrived home late that evening, his son said very emotionally, “Dad, I’m so thankful you survived… that God spared your life.” The boy continued, “What are you going to do now? What are you going to do with the second chance God has given you?” That is a question for all of us. In Christ, God has given us the opportunity of a second chance to live life as He intended. 

When we are born again spiritually, we receive a new nature – we become brand new. That’s the Good News of the gospel message! So let me ask you:  Have you received the second chance of the gospel? If so, what are you going to do with it?
