ABOUNDING IN THE LOVE OF GOD (1)

1Thessalonians 3:12 (KJV, TPT), 2Corinthians 9:8 (CEV)

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: *And may the Lord increase your love until it overflows toward one another and for all people, just as our love overflows toward you. *God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others.

We do not only experience God’s abundance in the kingdom of God, we also express it by showing love and being a blessing unto others.

We express God’s love and we bless the lives of others just like God does, (John 3:16). The love of God that we have received in Christ is so much that we cannot keep it to ourselves. When we are showing love and being a blessing to others, we are exercising the nature of God that is in us. As we continue to love, give and be a blessing to others, God continues to increase our capacity to express His love and be a blessing to others. The Bible says, “Give freely and become wealthier; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed,” (Prov.11:24-25, NLT).

Loving, giving and being a blessing to others is a major part of our kingdom lifestyle. It is a natural response to the grace and love of God that we have received in Christ. It is this revelation of the love of God that made the believers in the churches of Macedonia to give so much, though they were going through a lot of challenges. They pleaded for opportunities to give and be a blessing to others, (2Cor.8:1-5).

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, may the revelation of your abundant love for me in Christ continue to fill my heart and overflow to others.
