ABOUNDING IN THE LOVE OF GOD (2)

John 13:35 (CEV) Hebrews 10:24 (TPT), Hebrews 6:10 (NLT)

If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples. *Discover creative ways to encourage others and to motivate them toward acts of compassion, doing beautiful works as expressions of love. *For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

Walking in love is a major sign of our salvation. “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death,” (1 John 3:14). It is a major ability we received from the life of God the moment we got saved and it is a major sign that we are His disciples. Jesus said it is by loving one another that people will know we are His disciples.

Jesus also said when we do anything unto the least believer in Him, we are doing it unto Him, (Matt.25:40). This is why when Saul was persecuting the church, Jesus said, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:4)

Walking in love is a major key to manifesting the gifts of the Spirit. In 1Corinthians 12, Paul spoke about the gifts of the Spirit, and in the last verse, he encouraged us to desire the best gifts. He ended by saying, “I show you a more excellent way.” In chapter 13, he began to talk about love, which is a more excellent way to manifest the gifts of the Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit are activated by the love of God in your heart and the desire to express the love of God to others. Out of your belly will flow rivers of living water – the Spirit, (John 7:38-39). Love is both the motive and motivation for the gifts of the Spirit.

Prayer:
Father, I desire to express more of your love unto others. Please fill my heart with more of the revelation of your love for me.
