Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord

Have you ever considered the beauty and power of repentance? More than a drag-your-feet action to be avoided, it is a miraculous gift from God!

Repentance is a rapid response to the sins to which we fall prey. It restores our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Sin separates us from God, but repentance sets us right again.

Proverbs 28:13 tells us that “he who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” The sin that we hide and harbor causes us to live in spiritual poverty. The sin that we confess and renounce gains us spiritual prosperity.

We need not be ashamed of our need to repent. That is why God sent His Son. He knew that we would need to repent, that we would need forgiveness, that we would need our sins to be washed away.

And when we repent, times of refreshing will come. We will experience His joy in the dark times, His peace when chaos is all around, and His strength to soar above the storms.

If you long for thirst-quenching revival from the presence of the Lord, prioritize repentance. Be quick to seek forgiveness for the sins that separate. Dance in the refreshing that comes after repentance.

Blessing:

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. May the goodness of God lead you to repentance so that you are refreshed and renewed. When you seek Him, you will live!
