All are Precious to God

PRAY OVER THIS:

“Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” (1 Peter 2:17)

READ THIS:

The word honor is a Greek word, which means “to give worth to.” It includes the idea of something being precious. Every man, woman, boy, and girl is precious in the sight of God. Honor all men. All people are intrinsically precious, and the Christian citizen will see them that way. If there are people in this world that we do not see as precious, we do not understand the demands of Christian citizenship. All are precious in the sight of God.

Peter also said, “Love the brotherhood.” He was talking about the Church. God is the father of those who’ve been born into His family through new birth. Brothers and sisters in Christ are brothers and sisters because they are in Christ. God has called all those in the family of Christ to love one another as He has loved us.

CONSIDER THIS:

• Do you see others as precious in the sight of God? How should this affect the way you interact with others?
• How is God calling you to “love the brotherhood” of your church this week?

Make a list of specific ways you might love your church family this week.
