ALWAYS BE CONSCIOUS OF THIS AS YOU PRAY

2 Chronicles 7:11-12, 15-16 (AMPC)

…Solomon finished the Lord’s house… And the Lord appeared to Solomon by night and said to him: I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself… Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. For I have chosen and sanctified (set apart for holy use) this house, that My Name may be here forever, and My eyes and My heart will be here perpetually.

After Solomon built the temple, God assured Solomon that He had chosen the temple; that He would always listen to every prayer prayed in the temple, and that He had placed His Name upon the temple. Some versions say that God will honour His Name in the temple.

Beloved, right now, because of Christ, this promise God made to Solomon is upon your life. “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Cor.3:16, NKJV) God no longer dwells in temples made with hands (Acts 7:48). He now dwells in you. You are His temple. And as God promised Solomon to attend to every prayer prayed in the temple, God will attend to every prayer you pray; for you are His temple now.

As God assured Solomon that He had placed His Name upon the temple, God has also placed His Name upon you. Do you know how a husband’s name comes upon his wife when they become one in marriage? This is how God’s Name has come upon you. Jeremiah said “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name,
O Lord God of hosts,” (Jer.15:16). Jesus has put His Name upon you. Now, whatever you ask in His Name (authority) God does, (John 16:23).

Action Point:
Thank God for making you His temple and for giving you His Name. Pray about your desires with this faith and confidence.
