ALWAYS REJOICE ABOUT GOD’S WORD

Psalms 119:162 (NLT), Job 23:12 (LB), Luke 10:21 (NLT)

I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure. *I have not refused his commandments but have enjoyed them more than my daily food.…Jesus was filled with the joy of the…Spirit, and… said, “O Father…thank you for hiding these things from those who think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them to the childlike.

Your attitude towards God’s word greatly determines the impact and influence that God’s word has in your life, (1Thes.2:13, NLT). God wants us to increase the value that we place on His word. Enjoy and value God’s word more than you enjoy and value food and other pleasures. Stop seeing God’s word as ordinary or like every other knowledge or information you can get anywhere else.

The entrance of God’s word gives light, (Psa.119:130). By God’s word, He created everything that exists, (John 1:1-3). Your life is from God’s word (1Pet.1:23). The gospel of Christ is the power of God, (Rom.1:16). Do you know that there is a blessing for reading God’s word, hearing God’s word and obeying God’s word? (Rev.1:3, James 1:25). Always be excited about hearing God speak to you and revealing His mind to you. Our first text above describes God’s word as a great treasure, it describes it as a great treasure. In our last text above, Jesus rejoiced because of the revelation God had just given to His disciples through Him. When you take delight in God’s Word, you will meditate on it day and night and you will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, (Psa.1:2-3). God values our sitting down to receive His word more than every other activity we engage in, (Luke 10:38-42). Value God’s word and let the revelation of Christ dwell in you richly, (Col.3:16).

Prayer Focus:
Father, I value and desire your word above everything else in my life. Help me grow in my passion and desire for your word.
