ANGER MANAGEMENT

“When angry, do not sin; do not ever let your wrath (your exasperation, your fury or indignation) last until the sun goes down.”

-EPHESIANS 4:26 (AMP)-

People usually think it’s impossible for two people living together for a period of time, to dwell in peace without any scuffle. When that happens, it is termed either as pretence or “stupidity” on the part of one of the parties. However, this might not be true. I am a living witness of a peaceful marital life, with no day of quarrels, malice, or strife.

The root cause of quarrels in the home is anger. That means if there is no occasion for you to keep anger, there will be no need to quarrel with your spouse. You might say it’s natural to be angry, but it’s unnecessary to bottle it up for even a second. When you get upset with your spouse over anything, other than exploding and/or speaking quarrel words, you could turn to the wall, take a deep breath and relax, or just pace for a few minutes to regroup.

However, you must never let an issue exceed the day it occurred. Your reason for pacing is not to think of a revenge strategy, but of ways to reason amicably, thereby coming to a peaceful conclusion. Moreso, it gives you a more convenient strategy to discuss without tension; but it must be within that day.

The reason why you must not “let the sun go down on your anger” is that the devil would use that opportunity to create and/ or breed hatred and unforgiveness within your heart. Uncontrolled anger is a killer, and it destroys subtly but quickly. So, you must learn to control it within the stipulated period, so it does not ruin the peace in your home. You will not miss it in the name of Jesus Christ!

Remain Blessed!
