Memorise: For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not. Isaiah 30:15

Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19:11-12

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 53-55; Acts 27:26-44

MESSAGE

As teenagers, you shouldn’t think that God speaks to adults alone. He surely speaks to children too. Samuel was about 12 years old when he heard God speak to him. Nothing in this world beats having God speak to you. He is the all-knowing God. He knows the end of a thing from the beginning. He knows the heart and intent of every man. Imagine having the answer to any question you want answered about any situation. Imagine needing a unique solution to a problem that will put your name on the worlds map?, All you need do is simply ask Him.

To hear God, you have to make Him a priority in your life. You have to put Him above all else by cultivating and maintaining a tight bond with Him. Secondly, it is one thing for God to speak, it is quite another thing for you to listen. God might be speaking to you but you are not listening because you are busy with so many activities. You have to form a habit of shutting everything out and having a quiet time with God daily. Asides the fact that you need to constantly commune with God, a quality quiet time helps you stay grounded and focused on God in the course of the day.

Key Point:

You will achieve great things if God speaks to you. Do everything you can to make that happen constantly.

Hymn: When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way,
While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away,
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay,
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows,
    And the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
