TAKE HOLD OF YOUR INHERITANCE IN CHRIST

Galatians 3:13-14 (NIV), 1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV), Romans 5:17 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us… He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.…they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Just like in most places in the Bible, the word ‘receive’ in our texts above is the Greek word ‘Lambano,’ and it means to actively and forcefully seize something that has been offered to you. It means to take possession of something that is rightfully yours. It is an active word, not a passive word. There are so many things that God has made available for you in Christ that He is waiting for you to receive and to take a hold of in your life. God wants you to take a hold of them by faith. He wants you to see them as your present reality and appropriate them into your life. If you refuse to take hold of all God has given you in Christ, you will be making them go to waste and making all Christ did for you be in vain.

You can only take hold of what you know has been given to you and you can only forcefully seize and take possession of something that you acknowledge is rightfully yours. It is my earnest prayer for you that you will increase in your knowledge of the things that God has freely provided for you, by His grace in Christ and that you will take hold of them in your life. For this to happen, you must be deliberate about meditating on the revelation of Christ (Acts 20:32, Col.3:16). The revelation of all that God has done for you in Christ will not just jump out of the Bible and enter into you. You have to search for them and study them. You must believe, pray and declare them into your life. You must continue to live and act in line with them.

In Mark 11:24 Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” God wants us to boldly declare what He has said about us in Christ, (Heb.13:5-6).

Prayer:
I thank you Dear Father that everything Christ has done for me is my reality right now. Open my eyes more to them and help me take hold of them.
