BE AS JOYFUL AS GOD IS
Zephaniah 3:16-18 (Living Bible), Psalm 100:1-2
…the announcement to Jerusalem will be, “Cheer up, don’t be afraid. For the Lord your God has arrived to live among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will give you victory. He will rejoice over you with great gladness; he will love you and not accuse you.” Is that a joyous choir I hear? No, it is the Lord himself exulting over you in happy song. *Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Joy is a wonderful thing and God wants you to have it. God has joy. He is always joyful and He wants you to be joyful too. Do you realise that just like our text above says, God is always rejoicing over you? Think about it for a moment. If God is always rejoicing over you, then there is absolutely no reason why you should not rejoice and be glad at all times.
There are things that God sees and knows about you that is causing Him to rejoice over you. There are things that God has already made possible and available for you in Christ that are making Him glad and joyful over you. I pray for you that you will always have the joy of the Lord. The joy of the Lord is not just to have joy because of God. It is the same joy that God has. May God fill your heart with His precious love, thoughts, plans, promises and provisions that He has available for you. You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, called to show forth God’s praises, (1Pet.2:9). He has given you all that pertains to life and godliness and He has given you His great and precious promises, so that you can partake of His divine nature, (2Pet.1:3-4). You are blessed and lifted. You are loved and special in God’s sight.
You are God’s precious child. Whatever you may be going through that is not the will of God for your life is temporal. Don’t allow it to affect your joy and vision, (2Cor.4:17-18). Don’t allow it affect how you serve God. Serve God with joy and gladness of heart. Your God reigns, (Isa.52:7b). Your redeemer lives, (Job 19:25). It is well with you, (Isa.3:10). Rejoice in the Lord! Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Walk by faith and not by sight. You will come out better on the other side. You will testify!
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I rejoice in your great love, thoughts, plans, promises and provisions for me. I thank you that I am blessed and lifted today!
