Be Grateful
by Dr. (Mrs) Lizzy Johnson-Suleman

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Malachi 1-2

TEXT: “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. 1 Thessalonians 5 :18.

Whatever position you are in life, be grateful to God for it is the ticket to get to a better and higher position in life. Life is a privilege so also whatever or wherever you are in it. There are many who wish to be you or are praying to God to be where you are, so be grateful to God from your heart for the opportunity He gave you to express life.

As a wife, be grateful to God for being one, for being the wife of that wonderful husband of yours. There are many still out there whose desire is to be married and even have a husband. Even if your husband is yet to be the perfect man, be grateful because he is a perfect gift from God (James 1 :17) and God is still working on h to perfect him for He is committed to perfecting that which concerns you Psa. 138 :8.

So when you are grateful to God giving thanks for you and also for your husband, God hastens His perfection process. This also affects the husband who should also be grateful to God for his position as a husband to that wonderful wife of his. Both should always be grateful to God for their children”… children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward”. However the offence of your child, never wished you never had them. Rather be grateful to God for them and pray for His intervention in correcting their ways which the enemy had corrupted.

Scripture says in the parable Jesus gave, “The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way” Matt. 13 :24 – 25.
But thank God that whatever your heavenly Father has not planted it shall be rooted up Matt. 15 :13.

There is no excuse whatever for not being grateful. The ungrateful remains stagnant and even ends up losing that thing which he is ungrateful for just like the man with the one talent in Matthew 25 :24 – 29.

You can continually progress in life by the right attitude of gratitude.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray now, I put on the attitude of being grateful.
