Memorise: And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2
Bible Reading: Romans 12:1-2
- I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
- And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Bible Reading In One Year: Isaiah 24-26, Ephesians 4:1-32
MESSAGE:
In Luke 5:1-11, the Lord gave Peter an unprecedented breakthrough in his business. Rather than thank Him, he asked Jesus to leave him alone. If you are not prepared for a great future, when you arrive there, you won’t know how to behave.
A preacher once made a joke. He was poor and was used to jumping from one commercial bus to another. Then one day, he was given an official vehicle at his place of work. He drove to a far place and parked the car. At the close of work, he heard conducts calling out his route when he stepped out of the office, he quickly hopped in. It was later in the night, long after he had gotten home that he remembered the car. He was so ashamed of himself that he couldn’t bring himself to admit to his wife that he had forgotten he now has a car and had come home in a public bus. He then spent the whole night asking God for mercy.
Is your family not as wealthy as you want it to be?, Does the future look bleak to you now? Relax, as a child of God, you have a great future ahead of you. All you need to do right now is to prepare your mind for that future. Don’t give room for the poverty mentality. Think big!
Action Point:
Mention your ambitions to God and thank Him for bringing them to pass.
Hymn: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way
- I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground”.
Chorus:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith on heaven’s table-land;
Where love and joy and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
- My heart has no desire to stay,
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these
abound, my constant aim is higher ground. - Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground. - I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song while climbing shall resound
Lord lead me on to higher ground. - Lord lead me up the mountain side,
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And Heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
