Memorise: A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother. Proverbs 15:20

READ: Proverbs 8:1-5

  1. Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
  2. She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
  3. She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
  4. Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
  5. O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 51-52; Hebrews 6:1-20

MESSAGE:

The word fool is used in the Bible to describe disobedient children. It is not difficult to recognise a disobedient child because he is one to assume that he knows better than his parents and elders. He never takes to corrections. He is also arrogant and speaks impulsively without thinking deep. Such a child is called a fool and destruction awaits him/her.

It is also not difficult to know a wise child. A child filled with wisdom is godly, humble, respects everyone including those who are younger than he/she is, lives peaceably with God and man, loves God and will never allow himself/herself to be lured into any ungodly association. So, which category are you? Note that there a lot of benefits in being wise. When you are wise, you will be treated with respect because you will be spared the rod of correction (Proverbs 22:15 ). You will have peace and you will fulfil Gods purpose for your life. Therefore, if you are not wise, get wisdom today by asking from God; the giver of wisdom. You can also get wisdom by studying Gods word.

Action Point:

God expects all His children to display high level of wisdom.

Hymn: Take My Life, And Let It Be

  1. Take my life and let it be
    Consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
    Take my moments and my days,
    Let them flow in ceaseless praise.
  2. Take my hands and let them move
    At the impulse of Thy love;
    Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for Thee.
  3. Take my voice and let me sing
    Always, only for my King;
    Take my lips and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee.
  4. Take my silver and my gold
    Not a mite would I withhold;
    Take my intellect and use
    Every power as Thou shalt choose.
  5. Take my will and make it
    Thine It shall be no longer mine;
    Take my heart, it is Thine own
    It shall be Thy royal throne.
  6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
    At Thy feet its treasure store.
    Take myself and I will be
    Ever, only, all for Thee.
