Beachball Truth

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be know of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.”

Romans 1:18-19

Have you ever tried to push a beachball underwater? You may be able to keep it down a second or two, but its buoyancy always keeps it popping up. God’s truth is like that beachball. No matter how hard a person, or a culture, tries to suppress the truth, it will surface, because God’s truth is irrepressible. Yet there is a movement to suppress the truth in our culture. This should not surprise us. We live in an age when people are exchanging the truth for a lie, creating an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. 

People need to hear the truth of God’s Word, because it is this truth, Jesus says, that will set us free. So this is your assignment for today – be God’s “beachball of truth,” and toss it around to others you know who desperately need to experience freedom.
