BECOME ADDICTED TO THE WORD

“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.”  1 Timothy 4:15 (KJV)

In this passage of the scripture, Apostle Paul was encouraging Timothy to become a Word addict. Be addicted to what you are hearing so that your profiting will appear to all. When you are addicted to anything, the effect will be visible in your life. In the book of Proverbs 4: 20-21, the Word of God declares: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart”.  This is an invitation to get addicted to the Word of God.

In the face of daunting challenges, God gave Joshua a template for perpetual victory and good success. “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8 KJV)

As you meditate on the Word and as you keep looking at it, you will make your way to prosperous and have good success. It is vitally important, therefore, that you let the Word dwell in you richly. Not sparsely but richly. The more you receive the Word in you the more transformation you will experience in your life. “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.” (Psalms 119:130 KJV).

Everything changes once you receive divine instruction because the entrance of God’s word gives light. This is the reason you must stay in the Word. Once you have received the Word, you must begin to see yourself in the light of the Word. That is how word addicts operate. Begin to see your needs already met. It is not going to be met, it is already met.  Jesus Christ said in John 19:30: “It is finished”. And in the book of Revelation 16:17, God’s Word declares that: “It is done”.
