Memorise: The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Psalms 110:1-3
Bible Reading: Psalms 110:1-3
1 LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
- The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
- Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Bible Reading In One Year: Isaiah 3133; Philippians 1:1-30
MESSAGE
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11 ”
Many children of God quote this scripture with boldness and expect to receive something from God, forgetting that there is a price to pay. Imagine what would happen to a student who knows his exams are fast approaching, yet refuses to read. Even on the eve of the exam, he sleeps all through the night without reading at least a page. He would fail woefully!, That is what most Christians do. God’s special blessings are not for lazy ones. The price you pay will determine your heavenly rating.
Jacob had to wrestle with God until his thigh bone shifted. That was the price he paid to have a change of name. These days, some children of God want Him to use them like He used the men and women of faith in the Bible while forgetting the sacrifices these great men and women had to make. Peter left his profession and followed Christ, Zacchaeus left his wealth and possession, Paul left his qualifications et cetera.
Anything you ask God to do for you is possible, but you must pay the price by being obedient to Him, persistent worship, regular study of His word and whole hearted service to Him. Then, He will not withhold anything good from you.
Key Point:
For those who want to be relevant, laziness is not an option.
Hymn: There Shall Be Showers Of Blessing
- There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.
Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
- There shall be showers of blessing-
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain. - There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4.There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
- There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.
