Memorise: And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. 1 Samuel 18:14

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 18:12-16

12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the LORD was with him, and was departed from Saul.

13 Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.

14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him.

15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.

16 But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.

Bible Reading In One Year: Psalms 132-135, 1 Corinthians 8:1-13

MESSAGE:

The Bible says that wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding (Proverbs 4:7). This implies that one of the most important things in life is wisdom. Human beings including yourself can be complex. In order to relate to them accordingly, you need divine wisdom. According to our memory verse of today, David behaved himself according and this made Saul, who was the king at the time, become afraid of David.

Wisdom will make you know when to talk and when not to, the right words to use and the accurate response to give at every point in time. When you speak wisely, it will be said that you are wise. How then do you get wisdom? The Bible refers to Jesus as wisdom. You want to be wise? Have and get Jesus. And the best way to know Jesus is by studying the word of God. Thereafter, take deliberate steps to do what the words tell you. In no time, you will be called a wise child.

Key Point:

Father, please make me wise.

Hymn: When We Walk With The Lord

  1. When we walk with the Lord
    In the light of His Word,
    What a glory He sheds on our way!
    While we do His good will,
    He abides with us still,
    And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
    Not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
    Not a doubt or a fear,
    Not a sigh or a tear,
    Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share,
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
    Not a grief or a loss,
    Not a frown or a cross,
    But is blessed if we trust and obey.
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love
    Until all on the altar we lay;
    For the favor He shows,
    For the joy He bestows,
    Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
    We will sit at His feet,
    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
    What He says we will do,
    Where He sends we will go;
    Never fear, only trust and obey.
