BEING A MOM IS HARD WORK

May 12, 2024

“…rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer…”
Romans 12:12

It’s not easy being a mom these days.

Daily challenges exist whether you’re home full-time or working outside the home. In fact, some days, it’s just impossible to fit in a daily quiet time with the Lord. It would be wrong to put pressure on ourselves always to create this perfect scenario because in doing so, you would selfishly have to push your children’s needs aside.

Personally, I believe God understands how hard it can be. Don’t you?

So, what’s the solution?

Learn how to meditate on God’s Word.

Joshua 1:8 says: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.”

Meditating is essentially “soaking in” God’s Word. Like a sponge, sit and linger over the scriptures,

Today’s verse of scripture in Romans contains three keys for moms and, really, anyone:

  1. Be joyful in hope. Every mom has hope for her kids. When a mom trusts in the Lord and believes His promises in scripture, she can be joyful and hopeful for the future of her family.
  2. Persevere in trials. Every mom will face difficulties and trials (kids not doing well, times of feeling unappreciated, etc.). But when her hope is grounded in God, she can find strength to endure any trial.
  3. Be devoted to prayer. With so many trials and so much in life that is out of your control, being devoted to prayer is more important than ever. Turn your concerns, fears, and even your children over to the Lord. Prayer is the power source for being a great mom and a great person.

Hope, perseverance, and prayer – three keys to victory for moms – and anyone looking to walk in victory through life’s ups and downs.

Happy Mother’s Day!
