BEING HOPEFUL AND FAITHFUL BY THE MERCY OF GOD (1)

Hebrews 4:15-16 (GNB)

Our High Priest is not one who cannot feel sympathy for our weaknesses. On the contrary, we have a High Priest who was tempted in every way that we are, but did not sin. Let us have confidence, then, and approach God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.

It is God’s everlasting love and His loving kindness that He uses to draw us to Himself, (Jer.31:3). The more we understand the greatness of God’s love and mercy towards us, the more we will be filled with hope and the more we will be drawn to Him. Psalms 103:10-11 says, “He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him,” and Psalms 130:3-4 says, “If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.”

Despite our flaws and weaknesses, God does not condemn us or give up on us. He still calls us His children. He wants us to never give up. He wants us to always rise up if we fall/fail and He wants us to keep moving and drawing closer to Him and His plan/will for our lives. God understands us and He always wants to help us. He wants us to keep coming to receive His mercy and grace so we can do His will.

God’s mercy is not only for sin. His mercy strengthens us and preserves us. His mercy prevents us from being consumed or swallowed up by any evil, (Lam.3:23). Because of Jesus, the mercy of God is always sure in our lives. Keep your focus on Jesus.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your great love and mercy. Your love and mercy are strengthening me and drawing me closer to you.
