BELIEVE GOD’S WORD
“So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.” 2 Samuel 5:3 (KJV)
David was anointed as king of Israel but had to go through challenges. He was rejected but God zeroed in on him. What people felt about him did not matter. What mattered was his connection with God. “If God be for you, who can be against you”. God was for him. So, God overruled for him. He spoke up for him and ensured that he prevailed despite the stubbornness of Saul and so, David became King of Israel.
God’s promise was that he was going to be King of Israel. Initially, he became King over Hebron. But eventually, the rest of the tribes came calling for him because when God says something, it becomes the final Word. When God speaks, the only way that thing can be aborted is if you allow it to be aborted because every promise of God is validated by the blood.
David was anointed in his father’s house but he never sat on the throne. He was anointed again in Hebron but was not King over the entire land. Eventually, God’s word was fulfilled and he became king over Israel.
Has God said something to you lately? Has He made a promise to you? Why settle for less? When God makes a promise, the responsibility is not on you to fulfill it. It is His responsibility. No matter how difficult it is, God can bring His Word to pass. Our responsibility as believers is to believe what God has said.
All things are possible to him that believes. Believe it if God has said it. Don’t begin to reason out how it will happen. It is not your business. Leave that in the hands of God. David became King because Jehovah said it. Saul wanted to kill him several times but the God that spoke ensured that he was protected. God will always defend his Word.
