Bethel Church Co-Pastor Beni Johnson Passes Away from Cancer at 67
“Healthy and Free,” wrote Bill Johnson on his social media accounts early Thursday morning.
Bethel Church, which both Bill and Beni have co-led since 1996, also confirmed her passing on social media.
“In our prayers for Beni, we felt called to fight the good fight, full of faith to the end—that is how she taught us to pray,’ the church stated. “Upon her death, we declare with all God’s Church that He is good, even as we grieve together.”
As reported by The Christian Post, Beni Johnson was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2018. At the time, doctors had discovered two lumps in her right breast, which were caught
“When this all began in March, and I walked out of the doctor’s office shocked. I asked Jesus, ‘what do I do now?’ I heard Jesus tell me, ‘Just love me.’ I said, ‘I can do this,'” she said in 2018.

“There has been so much peace, and at times those decisions that have to be made, the peace has helped me navigate through.”
While Johnson was receiving surgical treatments, doctors found a mutation in her BR2 gene, which made her more vulnerable to developing various cancers.
In February, as Johnson’s cancer worsened, affecting her breathing and ability to sleep, Bethel Church launched a 24/7 prayer campaign for her. On Wednesday, the church announced that she was placed in hospice care last week after undergoing chemotherapy.
“We continue to stand with the Johnsons for Beni’s complete healing,” the church wrote. “Medicine is a blessing and a great help, but in this moment, we need a miracle from the Lord. Please continue to pray for a total deliverance from all cancer, and for Beni’s strength to be renewed.”
Beni Johnson is survived by her husband, three children and 11 grandchildren.
