BLESSED AND BROKEN FOR THE LORD

LUKE 5:8-11(GNB)

When Simon Peter saw what had happened, he fell on his knees before Jesus and said, “Go away from me, Lord! I am a sinful man!” He and the others with him were all amazed at the large number of fish they had caught….Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will be catching people.” *They pulled the boats up on the beach, left everything and followed Jesus.

The abundant grace and blessings that Jesus manifested in Peter’s life as Peter was fishing were not just so that Peter would have a lot of fish to enjoy or sell and make money for himself. It was much more than that.

Jesus manifested His abundant grace and blessings in the life of Peter so that Peter would recognize His Lordship and yield himself to fulfill the calling and purpose that Jesus had for his life.

When Peter experienced the net breaking and boat sinking miracle that Jesus caused to occur in his life , Peter was broken because he acknowledged that he did not deserve such abundant grace and blessings. In his blessed and broken state, Jesus called Peter and commissioned him to a higher purpose. When you acknowledge all of God’s goodness, how blessed you are in Christ and the great privilege of being saved and a member of God’s family, it should humble you before God and cause you to yield yourself to Him for His use. “….what should be our response to God’s marvellous mercies?

I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be His sacred living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights His heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship” (Romans 12:1, TPT).

Prayer:
Dear Father, I am eternally grateful for your great and abundant love and goodness in my life . I yield myself to You right now.
