“…the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had…” – Genesis 39:5
One reason why people forget has to do with not recognizing God’s vessel. They do not realize that they are where they are because God blessed them through their association with another. A failure to understand this reality is the cause of many disasters in life and ministry.
It takes humility to recognize that God has chosen certain people, given them a call and favoured all those who help their cause. God chose Israel and has blessed all those who help that nation. There is nothing you can do about God’s choices. Laban was a wise unbeliever who recognized that his blessings had come by associating with Jacob. He did not want to part company with Jacob because he sensed the blessing came by the association.
When the Ark of the Covenant was in the house of Obededom, everything flourished. The house of Obededom was fully blessed because of the presence of the Ark of the Covenant. “And it was told King David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God” (2 Samuel 6:12).
A wise and spiritual person will attach himself to people who are recognizably called and favoured by the Lord. What you need is to tap into some of the grace that is being given to the person. I have noticed how people cannot see this reality and forget how they were lifted from the depths to great heights since they began relating with a particular person.
